The ONLY locally-based Hospice care - Bitterroot Health Hospice offers comfort, care, and dignity for patients and their families facing an incurable, life-threatening condition, so that they may live as fully and independently as they wish.
We recognize how difficult it can be for you and your family when nearing the end of life. Our hospice team works with you on making this transition as smooth, peaceful, and comfortable as possible. We focus on your comfort, educating your family and caregivers on how to help support you and whatever your needs are at any given time.
The Hospice philosophy affirms life and does not hasten or postpone death. It promotes understanding and accepting that the journey of life eventually leads to death, and it seeks to preserve and promote the inherent potential for growth within individuals and families during this last phase of life.
Our caring and compassionate hospice team has helped many families through this time and is honored to be here for you every step of your journey. Our goal is to provide you with the education, support, and care that you and your family need to navigate the road ahead. You are not alone.
Our hospice services
We work with you, your family and your medical provider to develop a care plan that specifies the services you'll be provided. The goal of hospice is to manage the symptoms of your illness, not cure it, and assist you in making the most of the time you have left.
Services provided may include:
- Physician care and consultation
- Nursing assistance
- Nurse aide
- Social work
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Speech therapy
- Medication management
- Medical equipment and supplies
- Inpatient care

- Spiritual support
We offer a Grief Support Group - open to anyone in the community - to help navigate and understand grief and the grieving process. This group meets weekly, for six weeks, and is led by one of our Hospice Social Workers in our Hospice Library. We follow the book "Understanding Your Grief" by Alan Wolfelt (more about his book is available via our video series below).
